Currently considered the most prestigious anthropologist in Cuba, a disciple of Fernando Ortiz and Lydia Cabrera, she has researched American, European and Oriental art for years, specializing in ethnography and folklore. She is also an essayist, museologist and painter. She has published several books, articles and lectured at universities, foundations and Cuban and foreign institutions. She is currently a member of UNEAC and of the Editorial Board of Temas magazine.
