Poet, essayist, editor and translator. Member of the UNEAC. Member of Scientific Degrees Comission of the Faculty of Arts and Letters, University of Havana. His poetic work includes: Aser’s bread (1987), The Single Age (1990), Body of the Day (2000), The Eternal Age (2005) and The Rung (2010). He has also published the essay books: The Décima in Renaissance and Baroque (2002), Eros and Thanatos: The poetic work of Justo Jorge Padrón (2002), Gold, criticism and Ulysses or believe in poetry (2004), Narcissus, waters and the mirror (2007), The whole century (2008), Metric, free verse and experimental poetry in Spanish language (2008) and Feijóo or the hive (2013). He has twice obtained the annual prize awarded by the Cuban Academy of Sciences (2006 and 2009). More than three hundred of his texts have been published in magazines and newspapers in Cuba and nineteen other countries. His poems appear in more than thirty national and foreign anthologies. Part of his work has been translated into more than six languages.
