Journalist and chronicler of Cuban music. He has collaborated with radio, television, film, and musical theater. He is the author of the books: La Bodeguita del Medio (1994), Tropicana, a paradise under the stars (1997), This is the Cuban music (2007), Stardust (Cuban singers) (2008) and The kings of Salsa (2011). His articles have appeared in Cuban and foreign newspapers and magazines.

The musical phenomenon known as “salsa” comes undoubtedly from Cuban music. Demonstrating that the genre has its origin in Cuban rhythms was the work of the author in this book which shows the great dance music artist of the country. From Miguel Matamoros to Juan Formell, Ignacio Piñeiro, Adalberto Álvarez and José Luis Cortés. Also included are the main figures of the Latin salsa such as Rubén Blades, Gilberto Santa Rosa and Marc Anthony. The book becomes a broad overview of the genre and its notable interpreters.
