Investigator. PhD. in Historical Sciences. Director of the House of the Arabs Museum from the Office of the Historian of Havana. He has spent more than twenty years researching the diversity of Arab culture, focusing on the presence and influence it has had in the regions of America, taking Cuba as an indisputable reference. He is the author of the books: Arab Components in Cuban Culture (1999), Arabs in Cuba (2007), and Arabs from Tales and Novels (2011). He is also co-author of the books: Arab Contributions to Ibero-American Identities (2010) and Arabs in Latin America (2010). He has obtained the prizes: Catauro (2007), Universidad de La Habana (2009) and Academia de Ciencias de Cuba (2009), all for his book The Arabs in Cuba. In 2015 it was translated into Arabic the book Arabs from tales and novels.

In this book the author explores, through a precise and extensive management of bibliographic sources, in the conformation and development of the Arab community in the Island —immigration routes, places of origin, occupational profiles, religious beliefs, family and associative structures—, until its assimilation to the receiving society, to which their descendants have made significant contributions in areas such as medicine and culture.
