Las Tunas, 1949

Genre:

Narrator, poet and essayist. Member of the UNEAC. He was selected for the artistic-literary prize Catania Duomo in 1995 under the auspices of the Ferdinandea Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts based in Italy. Author, among others, of the novels: Today is Monday (1995), The tragic passions of Cándida Moreno (2001/2011), The fever of the tuna (2005), Party with Havana Club (2011), Song from the flight (2012) and Onán in search of the perfect woman (2012). Some of these books have been published by foreign publishers such as Amarante from Spain and Emooby from Portugal. He has also received important literary distinctions in contests of narrative and poetry.

A novel that recreates with audacity the theme of post-1959 Cuban workers fleeing from the canons of Socialist Realism. The argument is not intended to criticize a suffocating reality in which their characters move, but to lead us to a literary reality through the prism with which the most dissimilar bystanders see within the fiction that is all narrative work. We do not find stoic women and men, but characters that fight, conform themselves, escape or take advantage of the disorder existing around them.
